A little
while ago I went to the Jean Paul Gaultier exposition in Rotterdam and it was
amazing. It maybe wasn’t the biggest exposition ever, but the garments were
amazing. And I am more then happy to show you some of the wonderful pieces of
the collection that I had seen. So lets take a look.
I had
planned for a long time to see the exposition and begin May I finely went. And
I am so happy I was still able to go to the exposition, because otherwise I
couldn’t show the things I saw. Of course it is nothing like seeing the
garments in real life, but I hope I can encourage you guys to go and see
exposition yourself. Because it just amazing to see what people can make!
The
exposition was split up in many chambers with each a few different collections,
different styles. I thought they did I really good job with making the chambers
in the same atmosphere as the garments, because of that the garments really
stood out. A really cool thing was the protections on the mannequins. There
were some mannequins that had protections of faces, so it looked just like they
were real people and some of them also talked! It was amazing to see.
There are
always dresses you like better then others, and of course not everything is my
style. But I had definitely some favourites I will tell you my top 3. It was really crowded though so some
dresses I couldn’t see that good.
The first
garment that really impressed and directly also my favourite was the garment that
looked like a naked woman body. It was so well made and because of the material
they used it got something really glamorous. To me this garment really showed
that the woman is a treasure, and that every body is glamorous in its own way. The
base was a skin coloured cat suit with big sequins. But I don’t think that I
can tell you how it looks you just have to see it.
My second
favourite was a movie dress. It was a special dress made of films. I really
like watching movies en going to the movies so I liked the dress right away.
But that wasn’t the only thing the way the dress was made, was beautiful.
Someone could just wear this to a film premiere because it was quite wearable
especially for a Jean Paul Gaultier dress. And does anyone know a better place
for a movie dress than a movie premier. Al with al it was just an amazing
dress.
And my
third favourite was a dress totally made out of fathers. It was so well made! No
wonder because they spend around 160 hours making it. But I think it absolutely
paid off in the end. I will show you also a picture of this one because
although a really love fashion and the way it was made, I absolutely suck at
describing it.
So I hoped
I give you a quite good sneak peek of how the exposition was. Also I just hope
you will visit more expositions yourself because you have to see things
yourself to really get the perfect impression.
